# Shipping Configuration

The **Shipping** section allows you to configure delivery locations, shipping methods, and shipping charges for your ecom store.

Shipping is mainly managed through **Shipping Zones** and **Shipping Classes**.

### 1. Manage Shipping Zones

1. Go to **Ecom Store → Shipping**.
2. View your existing shipping zones.
3. Check the **Zone Name, Region, Shipping Methods**, and available actions.
4. Use the **Search** option to find a specific zone.
5. Use the **Shipping** toggle to enable or disable shipping for the store.

### 2. Create a Shipping Class

Shipping classes help you group products based on their shipping requirements.

**Example:** Electronics, Clothing, Fragile Items.

1. Go to **Shipping Classes**.
2. Enter the **Class Name**.
3. Add a **Description**.
4. Click **Create**.
5. You can later assign the shipping class to relevant products.

### 3. Create a Shipping Zone

1. Click **Add Shipping Zone**.
2. Enter the **Zone Name**.
   * Example: Local, Domestic, or Worldwide.
3. Configure the **Zone Region**.
4. Select the required:
   * Country
   * State
   * City
   * PIN Code (optional)
5. Click **Add Region**.
6. The selected region will be added to the shipping zone.

You can also use **CSV Import/Export** when managing multiple regions.

### 4. Add Shipping Methods

You can add three types of shipping methods:

#### Free Shipping

Allows customers to receive delivery without an additional shipping charge.

1. Select **Free Shipping**.
2. Configure the required condition.
3. Example: Offer free shipping when the **minimum order amount is ₹500**.
4. Save the method.

#### Flat Rate

Charges a fixed shipping amount for an order.

1. Select **Flat Rate**.
2. Enter the **Method Title**.
   * Example: Standard Shipping.
3. Enter the **Flat Rate**.
   * Example: ₹99.
4. Configure **Shipping Class Costs**, if required.
5. Save the method.

Shipping class costs can be added on top of the base shipping charge.

**Example:**\
Base shipping = ₹50\
Electronics shipping class = ₹50\
Total shipping = ₹100

#### Distance Shipping

Calculates shipping charges based on the distance between the warehouse and the customer's location.

1. Select **Distance Shipping**.
2. Configure your **Warehouse Location** from Store Settings.
3. Set the **Shipping Cost per Kilometer**.
4. The shipping charge will be calculated based on the delivery distance.
5. Save the method.

### 5. Enable or Disable Shipping Methods

Once the shipping methods are created, you can use the available toggle to **enable or disable** them as required.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://helpdocumentation.gitbook.io/user-documentation/ai-store/shipping-configuration.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
